Prayer of the Faithful

The Lord Jesus sent Peter to feed his lambs. Confident that Christ also cares for this faithful flock, we bring forth our prayers.

For the Cardinals who gather in Rome for the conclave,

that the Holy Spirit will guide them as they discern God’s will in choosing the next Pope.

For the legacy that Pope Francis leaves the Church and the world,

that we may be inspired by his example of mercy, humility, and care for the poor.

For World Leaders,

that they may engage fruitfully in dialogue with others.

For the clergy and all religious,

that they may feel supported during often challenging times.

Let us pray that through work, each person may find fulfilment, families might be sustained in dignity, and society might be humanised.

For all who earn their living from the sea.

As we benefit from their labours, may we also share in the responsibility

of its conservation.

O God, who gave us an example of love in the suffering of your Son, make us willing to love you above all things, and receive these petitions with favour. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
